AAFA prides itself in the annual conferences that are hosted in early September every year and that are rotated between different African countries.
The conference brings together established scholars, early career researchers, graduate students, policy makers, professional bodies, and practitioners to debate accounting, finance, auditing, corporate governance, and related fields in Africa. The conference also provides opportunity for networking and for initiating new joint research ideas among delegates.
The annual conference is preceded by an Emerging Scholar Colloquium that provides opportunity for young researchers to interact with their peers and established academics to develop and shape their research ideas. Various discussions and plenary sessions are also offered to enhance the understanding of research, methodology, theory, and publication.
Many conference articles have been published in peer reviewed international outlets such as Research in Accounting in Emerging Economies, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies and Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
