Mariaan Roos a chartered accountant and currently a lecturer in the Accounting and Auditing Department, Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Completed her PhD in 2021 at the School for Public Leadership, Stellenbosch University. She has also held an academic appointment at the University of South Africa. Currently serve as the President of the African Accounting and Finance Association and has been an active member of the association since 2013. She is also actively involved in professional community services and serve on several national public sector committees as well as local government audit committees. She is also a member of the editorial board of The Southern African Journal of Accountability and Auditing Research.

Prof Stephen Nkundabanyanga
Professor Stephen K. Nkundabanyanga, Ph.D, MBA, ACCA and B.COM, lectures at Makerere University Business School where he is also the Head of Department of Accounting. He received a Makerere University Business School academic Excellence Award in 2015. He is the immediate past Editor of Makerere Business Journal. Currently, he is the Editor of the African Accounting and Finance Journal (AAFJ) – the official Journal of the African Accounting and Finance Association. He was recently appointed a member of the Board of the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) whose shareholders are Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Bank of Uganda and Makerere University. He has several years’ work experience in the private sector including with Uganda Telecom and served on the Board of Top Finance Bank for 5 years to 2018. Prof. Nkundabanyanga has authored several books and Journal publications and is a member of numerous accounting and management associations. He is on editorial boards of refereed Journals such as Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management, International Journal of Corporate Strategy and Social Responsibility and Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies.

Olayinka (Yinka) Moses teaches Accounting for Strategy, Performance, & Value, and Accounting Information Systems in the School of Accounting and Commercial Law, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Yinka’s research interest intersects management accounting and financial reporting. His research among others considers how accountability is implicated in management accounting and environmental sustainability.

Prof Philippe Lassou
Philippe Lassou is an Associate Professor of Accounting at University of Guelph. His research examines the interplay between accounting, governance and development in developing countries, with a particular focus on the government sector and indigenous development issues. His theoretical and methodological perspectives are problem centric. He has published on government accounting, public finance management and poverty reduction dynamics in high ranked journals. He is an associate editor for Critical Perspectives on Accounting, and Accounting Perspectives. Philippe is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA).

Dr Vidisha Ramlugun
Vidisha Ramlugun is a senior lecturer at the University of Mauritius since 2007 and holds a Ph.D. in corporate governance from the Open University of Mauritius. She has a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Mauritius and holds an MSc in International Banking and Finance from the University of Greenwich. She is also a member of The Chartered Governance Institute. Her main areas of research interests are in the fields of corporate governance, board diversity, accounting education, technology management and corporate social responsibility. Vidisha has collaborated with the National Committee on Corporate Governance on the development of a Corporate Governance scorecard for Mauritius. She has also contributed in the Progress report on the implementation of the African peer review mechanism Programme of action in Mauritius for 2021.

Musa Mangena is a Professor of Accounting at the Nottingham University Business School, The University of Nottingham and has teaching expertise in financial accounting, corporate reporting, and corporate governance at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive levels. He previously worked at the Essex Business School (University of Essex), Nottingham Business School (Nottingham Trent University) and Bradford University Management School and held leadership roles including head of department and head of research group. Prior to becoming an academic, Musa spent several years in the financial services industry holding senior positions across different functional areas. His research interests are in the areas of corporate governance, corporate reporting and consequences, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. He is widely published in top business and management journals, including among others, Journal of Corporate Finance; Review of Accounting Studies; British Journal of Management and Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance. Dr Irene Nalukenge
Irene Nalukenge is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting, Makerere University Business School. She is also the Associate Dean, Faculty of Commerce in the same institution. Irene completed her Ph.D. at Makerere University in 2018. Her research interest and publications focus on financial reporting, corporate governance and ethics. Irene is also a resourceful person with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Uganda. Irene also serves as a board member for some institutions, contributing in the area of financial reporting and governance in such entities. Irene has been a member of AAFA since 2013.

Lesley Stainbank, a chartered accountant, is a Professor Emeritus at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a research supervisor at the Durban University of Technology. She is a past-president of the Southern African Accounting Association. She serves on the Editorial Board of the SA Journal of Accounting Research, and is an Editorial Adviser to Accounting Education: An International Journal. She is also an Associate Editor of Meditari Accountancy Research and on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies. Since 2018, she has been the Southern African representative for the African Accounting and Finance Association.
Professor Stainbank has published more than 40 articles in overseas and local journals and has presented many papers at conferences. Her research interests are in corporate governance, accounting education and financial reporting for listed companies and SMEs. More recently, she has focused on ESG reporting, and in particular the SDGs.

I am enthusiastic academic with close to 20 years of national and international teaching, research, leadership and management experience in higher education. I have served in a number of senior academic roles, such as Associate Dean, Head of Department and currently, Deputy Head (Dean) of Southampton Business School. My research focuses on how Accounting, Finance and Governance (AFG) can drive Development around the world, especially the developing world (e.g., China, Sub Sahara Africa, and Middle East and North Africa), and in the process, I have published about 80 outputs, roughly 50% (40) of which have appeared in the top FT 50, ABS 4*/3*, and ABDC A*/A Journals around AFG topics that have been cited widely by academics and the popular global media, as well as attracted competitive external and internal research funds of over £200,000. I also have a strong interests and track record in developing, reviewing, examining, supervising and teaching Accounting, Finance and Governance (AFG) subjects to undergraduate, postgraduate, research, especially PhD, executive and professional accounting and finance students in a wide variety of institutions and countries around the world.

Prof Teerooven Soobaroyen
Teerooven is currently professor of accounting at the University of Essex and teaches financial accounting & analysis, management accounting and corporate governance. He has held academic appointments at the University of Southampton (England), Aberystwyth University (Wales) and University of Mauritius. He has held different leadership positions, including head of department and is currently the President of the British Accounting and Finance Association. His research publications, PhD supervisions, and funded projects focus on the interplay between accounting, accountability and governance and how this operates in various empirical settings such as companies in developing/emerging economies, charities, non-governmental organisations and higher education institutions. He is also an editorial board member of several academic journals.
